On
November 2, Ted Smith organized Vintage volunteers in planting trees
along Bridgeport on the Vintage property to quicken development of a pleasant looking natural sound and aesthetic buffer zone.
Our community now has 32 Douglas Fir trees and 20 Red Cedar trees
growing in a rich mix of Tagro.
Special thanks to Ted Smith for planning everything and motivating the
volunteers. We have two groups of volunteers to commend:
Team Deep Pockets
Ted finessed great bargains for the trees purchased (thanks to Furney's
Nursery) and played fundraiser, collector and accountant on the
communities behalf. These neighbors reached deep and donated the moola:
Smith, Lees, Cole, Brown, Walters, Lyanskiy, Greenlee, Shwab, Bang,
Bhatti, Kelly, Peterson, Scott, Soriano, Susser, Westover and Winquist
The Sweat Equity Brigade
Shovels, pick axes and buckets of water. This is not easy work. The rock
and dirt is ruthless. Thanks to our neighbors who gave their backs for
the community good:
Smith, Lees, Wu, Whitcher, Westover, Simpson, Shwab, Scott, Paulate,
Lyanskiy, Jolley, Davis, Atkinson and Mr. Steve Cole!
Look At These Guys!
They did both - pulled out their checkbooks as well as their pick
axes:
Smith, Lees, Cole, Westover, Shwab, Scott, Lyanskiy,
If you missed volunteering up until now, donate an hour or so for some
ongoing upkeep. If you have a few tree stakes, some trees would benefit
from a bit of twine and a stake to help them grow straight. In addition,
if you have a gas weed whacker, take a portion of the slope and whack at
the tall wild grass along the slope.
